Acceptable Use Policy
Infrastructure built for trading—not abuse.
This Acceptable Use Policy defines how Algo Hosting Services may and may not be used. Our infrastructure is intended for lawful trading, strategy development, backtesting, research, automation and related technical workloads. Customers are responsible for all activity performed through their Services, including activity by employees, contractors, applications, automated systems and other authorised users.
Trading-focused workloads
MetaTrader, cTrader, NinjaTrader, Expert Advisors, backtesting tools, data analysis and related development workflows are normal intended uses.
Lawful and authorised use
You may only use the Services for activity that is lawful, authorised and consistent with the rights of Algo Hosting, other customers and third parties.
Secure your environment
You are responsible for securing accounts, remote access, software, credentials and workloads running inside your VPS.
Proportionate intervention
Algo Hosting may restrict, isolate or suspend a Service where reasonably necessary to address abuse, security threats, unlawful activity or infrastructure risk.
Last updated: 25 July 2026. This Acceptable Use Policy forms part of the Algo Hosting Terms of Service and applies to all customers, Services, workloads and authorised users.
Scope and customer responsibility
Customers are responsible for how their Services are accessed, configured and used.
- This policy applies to every VPS, network connection, IP address, account, application and related service provided by Algo Hosting.
- You are responsible for activity performed by anyone using your account or Service, whether that access was authorised by you or resulted from inadequate security controls.
- You must ensure that employees, contractors, customers, applications and automated systems using your Service comply with this policy.
- You must not encourage, assist or knowingly allow another person to use the Services in a manner prohibited by this policy.
Permitted workloads
The Services may be used for legitimate trading, development and related technical operations.
- Permitted workloads include trading terminals, Expert Advisors, indicators, trading utilities, strategy research, backtesting, optimisation, monitoring and data-processing tools.
- Software development, source-control clients, operational dashboards and automation supporting a lawful trading or technical workflow are also permitted.
- Other lawful workloads may be used where they are compatible with the selected plan, do not create disproportionate infrastructure load and are not otherwise prohibited.
- A reference to a third-party platform or broker does not mean Algo Hosting endorses that provider or guarantees compatibility with its software, account rules or services.
Illegal and harmful activity
The Services must not be used to commit, facilitate or knowingly support unlawful or seriously harmful activity.
- You must not use the Services to host, distribute, promote, transmit or facilitate content or activity that violates applicable law.
- Prohibited examples include fraud, theft, extortion, unlawful impersonation, trafficking, exploitation, terrorist activity and material involving the sexual abuse or exploitation of children.
- You must not use the Services to threaten, harass, stalk or unlawfully target another person or organisation.
- You must not use the Services to evade sanctions, court orders, regulatory restrictions or other binding legal requirements.
- This list is illustrative and does not limit the broader prohibition on illegal activity.
Unauthorised access and network abuse
The Services must not be used to compromise, probe or disrupt systems without proper authorisation.
- You must not gain or attempt to gain unauthorised access to accounts, devices, applications, networks, data or credentials.
- Credential stuffing, password attacks, exploit attempts, session theft, interception, spoofing and circumvention of access controls are prohibited.
- You must not conduct port scanning, vulnerability scanning or penetration testing against third-party systems without the explicit authorisation of the system owner.
- High-volume or intrusive security testing that may affect Algo Hosting infrastructure requires prior written approval, even where the target is controlled by you.
- You must not generate denial-of-service traffic, participate in a botnet or otherwise interfere with the normal operation of a system or network.
Malware, phishing and credential theft
Algo Hosting infrastructure must not be used to develop, operate or distribute malicious systems.
- Malware, ransomware, spyware, credential stealers, remote-access trojans, malicious loaders, botnet infrastructure and command-and-control systems are prohibited.
- You must not host or distribute phishing pages, deceptive authentication flows or files intended to obtain credentials or sensitive information unlawfully.
- You must not knowingly maintain compromised software or infrastructure that creates a risk to Algo Hosting, its upstream providers, other customers or third parties.
- Legitimate malware research, reverse engineering or security analysis is not permitted where it exposes production infrastructure or third parties to risk, unless Algo Hosting has expressly approved the activity in writing.
Spam and messaging abuse
The Services are not intended for unsolicited bulk messaging or abusive communications.
- You must not send spam, unsolicited bulk email, fraudulent messages or communications that violate applicable marketing and privacy laws.
- Operating an open mail relay, abusive messaging gateway or infrastructure primarily intended for bulk outreach is prohibited.
- You must not use harvested, purchased, unlawfully obtained or misleading recipient lists.
- Email or messaging activity that generates material complaints, blocklisting or reputational harm to Algo Hosting networks may be restricted.
- Transactional notifications generated by legitimate customer applications are permitted where they are lawful, proportionate and securely configured.
Resource and platform abuse
Customers must use allocated resources in a manner consistent with their plan and the stability of the platform.
- You must not intentionally circumvent CPU, memory, storage, bandwidth, process, licensing or other technical limits applied to your Service.
- Workloads that cause sustained disproportionate load, storage exhaustion, network saturation or material degradation for other customers may be limited or require a different plan.
- Cryptocurrency mining, public proxy services, residential proxy networks, Tor exit nodes, mass public file distribution and similar non-trading infrastructure workloads are prohibited unless Algo Hosting has expressly agreed otherwise in writing.
- Stress testing, load testing or traffic generation capable of affecting shared or upstream infrastructure requires prior written approval.
- Algo Hosting may recommend migration to a more appropriate product where a legitimate workload consistently exceeds the intended operating profile of the selected plan.
Trading and financial-system misuse
Trading-focused infrastructure may not be used to obtain unauthorised access or facilitate unlawful market activity.
- You must not access or operate a broker, exchange, trading account, funded account or financial service without the account holder’s valid authorisation.
- You must not use the Services for fraud, unlawful market manipulation or conduct that violates applicable financial-market law.
- You are responsible for complying with broker, exchange, prop-firm and software-provider account rules that apply to your activity.
- Algo Hosting does not monitor, approve or validate individual trading strategies and does not determine whether a strategy complies with a broker’s or regulator’s requirements.
- Algo Hosting’s enforcement of this policy does not constitute financial, investment, brokerage or regulatory advice.
Software, licensing and intellectual property
Customers must have the rights and licences required for all software and material used through the Services.
- You must not install, copy, distribute or use software, data or content in violation of intellectual-property rights or licence terms.
- Pirated software, unlawful licence keys and tools intended to bypass software activation or access controls are prohibited.
- You must not disable, manipulate or circumvent Windows activation, platform licensing or other licence-enforcement mechanisms supplied with the Service.
- You are responsible for maintaining valid licences for trading platforms, Expert Advisors, indicators, datasets and other third-party software.
- Algo Hosting may request reasonable evidence of authorisation where a credible rights complaint concerns activity on a Service.
Credential and security requirements
Customers must take reasonable measures to prevent compromise and unauthorised use.
- Use strong, unique passwords and restrict RDP, administrative and application access to authorised users.
- Keep operating systems, trading platforms, applications and security-sensitive components appropriately updated.
- Do not publish credentials, private keys, recovery codes, payment-authentication information or other sensitive secrets.
- Do not provide broker passwords or private keys to Algo Hosting support unless an expressly approved support process requires specific temporary access.
- You must notify Algo Hosting promptly if you reasonably suspect that a Service or account has been compromised or is being used unlawfully.
- Algo Hosting may reset credentials, isolate a Service or restrict network access where reasonably necessary to contain a security incident.
Resale, sharing and third-party access
A customer may allow legitimate authorised users to access a Service but remains responsible for their activity.
- You may provide access to employees, contractors or technical collaborators where this is reasonably connected to your own authorised use.
- You must not resell, sublicense, publicly share or transfer control of a Service without Algo Hosting’s prior written approval or an applicable reseller agreement.
- You must not misrepresent yourself as Algo Hosting or imply that an independently provided service is operated, guaranteed or supported by Algo Hosting.
- You remain responsible for support, security, billing and policy compliance where another person accesses a Service through your account.
Operational monitoring and investigation
Algo Hosting may use proportionate technical information to operate, secure and protect its infrastructure.
- Algo Hosting may process service metadata, authentication events, resource utilisation, network indicators, security alerts and operational logs as described in the Privacy Notice.
- Algo Hosting does not undertake a general obligation to monitor all customer files, communications, trading activity or software behaviour.
- We may investigate credible abuse reports, security incidents, technical anomalies, legal requests and suspected violations of this policy.
- Customers must provide reasonable cooperation and accurate information where needed to assess or remediate a suspected violation.
- Algo Hosting may preserve relevant records where reasonably necessary for security, investigation, dispute handling or legal compliance.
Intervention, suspension and termination
Algo Hosting may take proportionate action where a Service creates a legal, security, abuse or infrastructure risk.
- Depending on the nature, severity and urgency of the issue, Algo Hosting may issue a warning, request remediation, block traffic, restrict functionality, isolate a Service, suspend access or terminate the affected Service.
- Immediate action may be taken where reasonably necessary to contain an active attack, prevent imminent harm, comply with a binding legal requirement or protect infrastructure and third parties.
- Where circumstances reasonably allow, Algo Hosting may give the customer an opportunity to correct a violation before permanent termination.
- Repeated violations, intentional abuse, failure to cooperate or attempts to evade restrictions may result in stronger or permanent action.
- Enforcement decisions will be made as objectively, diligently and proportionately as reasonably possible based on the information available.
- Nothing in this policy requires Algo Hosting to delay urgent protective action or disclose information where disclosure is prohibited by law or would materially compromise security.
Notification and review
Where Algo Hosting restricts a Service because customer-provided information is considered illegal or incompatible with the Terms of Service or this Policy, Algo Hosting will provide the affected customer with a clear and specific statement of reasons where required by applicable law and where electronic contact details are known.
- Where applicable, the statement may explain the restriction imposed, its scope and intended duration, and the relevant facts and circumstances.
- It may identify whether the action followed an external report or an own-initiative investigation, the applicable legal or contractual ground, and whether automated means materially contributed to the decision.
- Where applicable, it may identify the available method for requesting review or otherwise seeking redress.
- A customer may request review through the Contact page and should include the relevant account, server or report reference.
- Requesting review does not automatically suspend a security, legal or protective measure.
- Algo Hosting may correct, reduce or reverse a restriction where further information shows that the original action was no longer necessary or appropriate.
Reporting abuse
Anyone may report suspected illegal content, prohibited activity or misuse involving Algo Hosting infrastructure.
- Submit reports through the dedicated Report Abuse page and provide enough information to identify the affected service and assess the alleged issue.
- Reports should include a precise IP address, hostname, URL, service identifier or other relevant electronic location.
- Submitting a report does not establish that the reported activity is unlawful and does not guarantee removal, restriction or suspension.
- Algo Hosting may request additional information and will assess reports based on their substance, available evidence and applicable requirements.
- Do not use the abuse channel for ordinary billing, account-access or VPS-configuration questions.
Policy changes and document priority
This policy works together with the Terms of Service and other applicable contract documents.
- Algo Hosting may update this policy to reflect changes to the Services, security risks, operational requirements or applicable law.
- Customers will be informed of significant changes in accordance with the Terms of Service and applicable requirements.
- If this policy conflicts with a signed Order or a specifically agreed service term, the applicable document hierarchy in the Terms of Service controls.
- Nothing in this policy excludes statutory rights or obligations that cannot lawfully be excluded.
- Questions about this policy may be submitted through the Contact page.
